In the plain of the South of this province the distribution of the annual average temperature is very uniform and oscillates between 24 and 26o C. In the winter, it can reach values of 20 to 22o C and in the summer, of 26 to 28o C.
The rainfall can reach values between 1400 and 1800 mm/a to the north, in the environs of the mountain range of Guaniguanico, to descend towards the south, where mm/a is from 600 to 800. The annual insolation, in term of the annual sum of hours light, is uniform and similar to the one of the greater one of the central plains of all the national territory and it is between 2700 and 2900 hours of light.
In the mountainous territories the climate is varied, but it is dominated by an annual average insolation that moves from isohelia of less than 7 hours to the one of 7.5 hours daily. The annual average temperature of the air is of 24o C, with isolated isotherms of 23o C that unite shady the highest sites and simas of depressions of wooded hills. During the first months of the year, in intramontanos valleys, temperatures have been registered remarkably low a little before the dawn when the thermometers of the explorers have marked between 4 and 6o C. Towards the western end of this region, the isotherm of the annual absolute minimum temperature of the air, with probability of 5% occurrence is of 4o C. In general the climate is tropical rainy. The conditions of climatic well-being are the best ones, specially in the high regions.
